'Something Wicked this Way Comes' - an Evening of Gothic Poetry and Stories - Sunday 30th October - 8.30pm

Hallowe'en isn't just a night for the kids - why not join us for an evening of Gothic poetry and stories - from Edgar Allen Poe's 'Raven' to Frankenstein and Dracula - this will be a celebration of all the spookiest creepiest literature out there. The theatre will be dressed for the occasion - so feel free to come along in something gothic to add to the mood. There'll be a wine reception and finger-food during the night.

Tickets for patrons and the general public are 10 - members are entitled to a free ticket in exchange for a bottle of wine to be left in the box office.

This will be a caberet style event so tickets are limited - so if you're planning to come make sure you get yours fast.

Play reading - Faustus Kelly by Myles Na gCopaleen (Flann O'Brien) - Sunday 23rd October - 7pm

A comic parodying of the Faust legend in which the chairman of an Urban Council makes a pact in order to secure advancement and become a TD. This is a laugh out loud play, which is as sharp now as when it was written.

The format for the night: Tea and coffee (and often cakes!) are provided on the night - but it's a BYOB affair, so if you want to bring a bottle of wine with you you're more than welcome. If you don't want to read you can just come to listen but we try and make sure everyone who wants to read gets a chance. If there are only a few characters in the play we'll rotate scene by scene - if there are lots of characters we'll share them out - obviosuly scripts are provided on the night - and go into the club library afterwards (in case anyone wants to work on the play subsequently).
